At work we have a lot of “mindfulness” and meditation sessions both in person (pre-pandemic) and online. I find these sessions incredibly frustrating as you are encouraged to close your eyes and of course once I close my eyes, I can’t hear what is being said. If I keep my eyes open I feel uncomfortable as I am look at the person running the meditation to be able to lip-read or find that I can’t lip-read anyway because they are walking around the room and I can’t relax and follow them around the room.
So I give it a go every once in a while, but I am always on the look out for different options that work for me.
Last month I found Rebecca A. Withey: My Christmas Wish and a guided meditation just for youon Limping Chicken. In this article Rebecca shares a written transcript for you to read and use for a guided meditation.
I actually found it really useful. Bizarrely I hadn’t thought of simply sitting down and reading the text of a transcript of a meditation – so I just wanted to share.
